Hi, how can I get my customers to create back orders for products not in stock?

  If you want products not in stock to be able to be purchased, you will need to disable the stock control feature and indicate in the description that the item will be placed on backorder.

  When you receive an order for an item going on backorder, you can Label the order as Backorder (colour coded order labels are fully customisable, so you can create labels for any purpose). 

  If you are partially shipping the order, you can process the shipment, specifying which items are being sent. The order will be set to Partially Shipped and the remaining items will show as unshipped.
