    Hi Patricia,

There is a way to sell gift vouchers, basically what you will need to do is, create the vouchers as a physical product, once that's done you can issue the gift cert code by going into settings > payment tab and clicking on 'Manage Gift certificates' this will allow you to set up gift cert and mange it also from the admin.

My concern with this method is that if I ste up a code, for say a 420 dollar voucher and a lot of people buy it. How do I track that they only use it once?.. as this may be a voucher they give to someone else.or use themselves. How do i make sure they only use it once?.. after all if the code in the cart for the $20 dollar vouchers is the same all the time.. they can just input it as many times as they like.. I get the fact that I can set the code to be used x many times. But lets say I set it to be used 20 times.. and one person buys 3 times with the same code. but they only purchased one voucher/ gift certificate.. how will track that?.. also if they only want to use  a voucher say thats for $100 dollars and they only want to spend $50 out of that voucher , how will i track how much is left in that voucher?...

I believe you have the promotions and gift vouchers mixed up, with the gift vouchers the system will automatically work out the remaining balance of that gift voucher, so if you issue a $100 voucher and they only bought a $20 item with that voucher, the system will automatically deduct that $20 and have the remaining balance as $80 and the customers will be able to use that voucher until the whole amount is consumed. You can view what's active, used, expired, cancelled or all of your vouchers within the settings > payment > manage Gift Cert.

I probably do have them mixed up. Have you got a sample to view, screen shots?.

Basically I have to create a product and once someone buys it I create a single code each time someone buys one?.. an individual code is that it ?.. just a tiny bit confused..

    Hello,

I've looked at your account and by the looks of things you manage to create your first gift voucher? The screen shot is basically where you will manage it, the amount $20 and amount remaining $20 clearly states how much is left.

please do let me know if your still unsure of what it means.

As the screen shot states, it active is your active vouchers, used is used vouchers, expired is expired vouchers that you've a to date, and cancelled is what you've cancelled, and all basically just lists all the vouchers you have.

I had a look at your account and it seems to have an issue with those 2 things that you've mentioned, however I've now escalated this to the developer to have a look to see what's causing the issue of the gift vouchers not cancelling or not sending the voucher code to the specific email address supplied.

Also I've replied to your ticket with that address the same issue, to save any confusion and time, if you could please select either the forums or the support portal to send out your request, now for something like this I would suggest using the support portal rather then the forums for any issues, as that is what the support emails are for.

I've deleted the 2 post because I'm assuming you don't want the screen shot to appear. So That's done.
