Why does Trend Micro 2013 disable ezimerchant?
I've been using ezimerchant for over 4 years without problems. For the last year or so I've been running v4.5.1 without issues.
I have recently upgraded Trend Micro Titaniun Maximum Security 2012 to 2013 version, and now it keeps disbling ezimerchant because it says it detects a virus HEU_AEGISCS707 in both ezimercpro.exe and ezimerchant professional.lnk.
Even when I added the whole ezimerchant folder to the exception list, it repeated the removal on the next startup. I have to run a system restore every morning.
Is this a legitimate security threat - ie do I have a problem with ezimerchant, and need to re-install v4.5.1; or is this just over-sensitivity on the part of Trend Micro?

It's worth trying to reinstall 4.5 in case the executable got infected.It sounds like false positive. We have seen a few of those over the years. Based on a quick search (http://www.trendmicro.com/us/about-us/detection-reevaluation/index.html) it looks like they encourage you to contact support to report false positives.
