When upgrading from ezimerchant Professional to ezimerchant Cloud, some consideration needs to be given to where orders are going and how to get them.
ezimerchant Professional mode
ezimerchant Professional has 2 modes of operation for downloading orders. The mode determines where orders are being downloaded from.
This is the traditional mode, used to downloads orders from the ezimerchant GTS (Global Transaction Server), which is where orders will continue to be captured until the website transition is complete.
After completing the upgrade to ezimerchant Cloud, ezimerchant Professional is automatically switched to Cloud Mode. In this mode, ezimerchant Professional downloads orders from the ezimerchant Cloud server.
Where are orders going?
Orders will continue to be captured by the GTS until the website is switched over. When the upgrade to ezimerchant Cloud is initially complete, the site is published to a temporary domain for review. No orders will go to the ezimerchant Cloud server at this point.
Once the domain is updated to the new ezimerchant Cloud site, orders will start being captured by the ezimerchant Cloud server. A DNS update can take up to 24 hours, so it is possible orders will go to either server during that time.
It is simple to change modes to get orders from either server. During transition it is worth trying both servers to ensure all orders are received.
Switch to V4 Mode
Click "Remove Upgraded Flag" under the Merchant menu
Switch to Cloud mode
Click "Set Upgraded Flag" under the Merchant menu.
How orders are downloaded doesn't change regardless of mode, except for the credentials used.
Use your GTS username and password.
Use your ezimerchant Cloud email address and password. Unless you have changed your ezimerchant Cloud password, it is the same as your GTS password. The email address is the one that was entered in the Registration Wizard in ezimerchant Professional. To find out what it is, you can click on "Registration Details" in ezimerchant Professional, then step through the wizard to the page where it is displayed.
When orders are going to the ezimerchant Cloud server, you can access and manage them in the ezimerchant Cloud Control Panel.
