Offer currency conversion (FX) services

FX Rates

Selling overseas, allow your customers to view prices and pay in their local currency.

There are two steps involved:

Payments

PayPal allows merchants to receive money from over 24 currencies.  You can accept additional currencies on your website by completing the following simple steps:

1. Log into your admin screens and click on Settings
2. Click on the Payment option
3. Click on the NEW button at the bottom of the page
4. Select the currency you wish to add and then select the payment option (in most cases this will be PayPal)
5. Press Save

PayPal will by default request you to accept transactions in other currencies, you can automatically accept these payments and convert to Australian dollars by doing the following;

1. Log into PayPal
2. Click on Profile within My Account
3. Select My Selling Tools
4. Click on the Block Payments update option
5. Under the heading “Block payments sent to me in a currency I do not hold”  and click on “No, accept them and convert them to Australian Dollars”
6.  Press Save

Displaying FX rate on your website

1. Within Settings click on Checkout
2. Under options check that you have Currency Conversion switched on.

Note: The service is free when you select the daily update option.
