Why do I have to enter my credit card details when registering ezimerchant Professional?

ezimerchant Professional version 4

When registering ezimerchant Professional you will be asked for your credit card details. These details will be used to charge you for the monthly Global Transaction Server fee. You will be sent a GST receipt for this payment each month via email.
